PathGuide Technologies Turns 20 Years Old

Leading provider of WMS hits major milestone with record sales

 

SEATTLE - April 28, 2009 - PathGuide Technologies, a leading provider of warehouse management systems (WMS) for wholesale and industrial distributors, today celebrated the company's 20-year anniversary. David Allais, a pioneer in data collection and barcode technology, founded Applied Tactical Systems (later named PathGuide) on April 28, 1989 in Lynnwood, Washington. Allais started the company to help clients become more productive through the creative application of barcode technology. Today, PathGuide has grown into a leading provider of warehouse management systems for wholesale and industrial distributors.

"PathGuide's recent record sales enable us to improve and expand our software and service offerings, which are largely guided by our customers.  Our focus on helping companies improve supply chain efficiency has had a large, positive impact for our customers - especially in this economy."

In 2009, PathGuide is embarking on one of its most ambitious projects by implementing Latitude in a 500-thousand square foot facility with 120 warehouse employees. With PathGuide's strong management team and state-of-the-art  technology, the company now finds itself installing Latitude in appreciably larger distribution centers.

Some key milestones over the past 20 years includes:

1989-1993

  • Developing a pilot warehouse management system for a customer that was the precursor to PathGuide's cornerstone product, Latitude WMS.
  • Developing a time and attendance system setting the stage for PathGuide's OASYS product.
  • Becoming profitable for the first time in 1993.

 1994-1998

  • Corporate name change to PathGuide and headquarters moved from Lynnwood, Washington to Mukilteo, Washington.
  • Re-writing PathGuide WMS software to run in Windows on a Microsoft SQL database and renaming it Latitude.
  • Partnership with Prophet 21 (P21) Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) Systems, now one of Latitude's most bundled ERP-WMS offerings. This partnership with a major ERP helped grow PathGuide's sales dramatically.

 1999-2003

  • Revenue increases almost four-fold.
  • Doubling company employees.
  • Customers expand internationally into Ireland and Canada.
  • PathGuide User Conferences begin.

 2004-present

  • All time record revenue and cash flow reached in 2008.
  • Eric Allais elected as PathGuide's second President and CEO.
  • PathGuide's first board of directors formed.
